Whitefish Chain - Crosslake Minnesota

Crosslake, Minnesota - Fun at the family cabin! As my family prepares to leave the Twin Cities for another great week in Crosslake, Minnesota, we check and double check, to make sure that we have everything. The kids need the floaty rafts, fishing equipment, and the dog needs his chain and walking leach. The excitement is in the air as we head west on 94 from Maple Grove, Minnesota. After filling the Tahoe with gas, and almost having a premature heart attack, I begin thinking about the hybrids I've recently been dreaming about. That story will have to wait for another time!As we pull into Crosslake, Minnesota the buzz is everywhere.......this is what the July 4th weekend is all about, and it looks like the weather will be great. After we get situated in the family cabin the kids are gone to checkout the lake and lake swing. The kids would play for hours on this swing if we would let them. Tonight the kids decided they wanted to fish for WALTER! Walter is the 5 lb. bass we catch every July 4th holiday off the cabin's dock. Walter was measured at 23" in 2006. Walter has been caught at sunset with a worm and hook. The days start off early around the cabin. Today the kids want to cruise the Whitefish Chain on uncle Bubba's Malibu. The weather continues to look very nice. After the boat riding and water skiing the kids played in the sun enjoying the Rave water raft in front of the cabin. This 15' wonder will entertain the children for literally hours at a time. The kids have fun bouncing and flipping off the raft. Have I told you about the King of the raft story? That story will have to wait for later as well! After another sun beaten day around the lake and cabin the kids start getting psyched for the marshmallow time around the fire pit. After dark, the chocolate, marshmallows, and graham crackers come to the fire pit with Grandma. Soon the treats are gone and the kids are falling asleep in parents arms. Time for bed and sweet dreams about the great upnorth! After a good night sleed the kids and parents will be ready for the next fun day at the cabin! We always enjoy the great family times in Crosslake, Minnesota
